With new iPhone models to be released in under a couple months, Apple has began pushing the current inventory out the door. In February, AT&T stores began selling refurb 8GB for $99, as well as the 16GB version for $200. The 16GB refurbs were bumped down to $150 in certain regional stores during March, so it looks like Apple has buckled down and getting ready for the next release.
The refurb model is currently available in black and white for purchase on AT&T’s online store. As usual, a two-year agreement is required and purchases are limited to one per household. If you don’t mind buying a refreshed model and would like to save some money, this would probably be the deal for you. That is of course, if you’re not waiting anxiously for the third-generation iPhone to be dropped this June.

BGR, is reporting to have received slides from an internal AT&T trianing presentation, which indicates that AT&T will be offering contact-free iPhone 3Gs to existing customers on March 26th. By limiting the “no commit” pricing to existing customers and limiting one per active number, AT&T can limit the amount of phones purchased being use for unlocking and use on other networks, while still performing upgrades for those who are not qualified.
AT&T is restricting the No-Commit price to existing customers who wish to add a line, purchase as a gift, or perform and [sic] upgrade and are not eligible for the Qualified or Early upgrade price.
iPhone 3Gs will be priced at $599 for the 8GB model, and $699 for the 16GB model. Unlike AT&T’s usual policies, no service agreement or device activation is required. It also appears that while the slides state one phone per active line on the account, AT&T has limited means of enforcing this rule. Only purchases made within within company-owned retail will show up in AT&T’s point-of-sale system, otherwise no marks will show up in the billing system.

It’s that time again. Like last December, AT&T is offering refurb iPhone 3Gs. This $99 deal is currently only available in the 8GB black version, but they also have 16GB refurbs in black and white for $199.
As always a two year contract and data plan are required with this purchase. AT&T is also offering free 2-day priority shipping on all orders. If you’re currently in the market to buy an iPhone 3G, don’t let this deal pass you up.
